The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has recently announced a total of 4660 vacancies for Constables and Sub-Inspectors (SI) posts. The official notification was released on April 14, 2024, and the online registration process for these vacancies has already begun.

    • SC/ST/EBC/Female candidates are eligible for a fee refund of Rs 250

Eligibility criteria for RPF Sub-Inspector (SI)

Age Limit 
Minimum Age: 20 years 
Maximum Age: 28 years 
Certain age relaxations are applicable for reserved category candidates: 
SC/ST: 5 years 
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years 
Ex-servicemen (with a minimum of 6 months of continuous service after attestation): 
UR: 3 years (after deduction of service length from age) 
For OBC-NCL candidates, there is a relaxation of six years after subtracting the length of service from their age. 
SC/ST: 8 years (after deduction of service length from age) 
Female candidates who are widowed, divorced, or judicially separated but not remarried: 
UR: 2 years 
OBC-NCL: 5 years 
SC/ST: 7 years 
Central Government employees (with at least 3 years of regular and continuous service): 
UR: 5 years

Educational Qualification 
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in India. 
Physical Eligibility 
Height and Chest Requirements: 
UR: Height 165 cm, Chest 80 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded) 
SC/ST: Height 160 cm, Chest 76.2 cm (unexpanded) and 81.2 cm (expanded) 
Garhwal, Kumaoni, Gorkhas, Marathas, Dogras, and other specified categories: Height 163 cm, Chest 80 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded) 
UR: Height 157 cm 
SC/ST: Height 152 cm

Selection Process

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): This will be a multiple-choice test covering General Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English.
  2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT): This will consist of height, weight, chest measurement, and running tests for Constable candidates only.
  3. Medical Examination (ME): This will be conducted by a panel of doctors authorized by the Railway Board.
