The SSC has issued the 2024 notification for the Junior Engineer (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical) Examination. Candidates interested in the SSC Junior Engineer JE Vacancy 2024 can apply online from March 28, 2024, to April 18, 2024.

Application Process:

  • Application Start Date: March 28, 2024 
  • Last Date to Apply Online: April 18, 2024 (till 11:00 PM)
  • Last Date Fee Payment: April 19, 2024
  • Correction Window for Application Form: April 22-23, 2024
  • Paper I Exam Date (Computer Based Test): June 4, 2024
  • Paper II Exam Date: To be announced later

Border Road Organization (BRO) Civil / Electrical / Mechanical BE / B.Tech Degree in relevant field OR Diploma with 2 years of experience
Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Diploma in relevant field
Central Water and Power Research Station Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Diploma in relevant field
Central Water Commission (CWC) Civil / Mechanical Degree/Diploma in relevant field
Directorate of Quality Assurance Naval Electrical / Mechanical Degree in relevant field OR Diploma with 2 years of experience
Farkka Barrage Project Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Diploma in relevant field

Selection Process

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (Paper-I)

  • This online exam assesses your knowledge in General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering.
  • It carries a total of 200 marks with 2 hours of exam duration.
  • There’s negative marking for incorrect answers (0.25 marks deducted per wrong question).

Stage 2: Computer Based Test (Paper-II)

  • This online exam specifically tests your knowledge in the engineering discipline you opted for (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical).
  • The paper holds a weightage of 300 marks.
  • Similar to Paper-I, it’s a 2-hour exam with negative marking (1 mark deducted per wrong answer).

Stage 3: Document Verification

  • Candidates who qualify in both Paper 1st and Paper 2nd will be called for document verification.
  • Originals of your educational certificates, experience certificates (if applicable), and identity proofs will be verified against the copies submitted during the application process.

Selection Criteria:

  • The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • There’s no separate interview stage for SSC JE selection.
