The Indian Navy has issued a notification for the recruitment of SSC Officers for the June 2024 (AT 24) Course, offering a total of 224 positions. Eligible unmarried candidates from India are invited to apply for the Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2023 on the official website at joinindiannavy.gov.in. The application period commenced on October 8th, 2023, and will conclude on October 29th, 2023

Notes:

  1. Vacancies mentioned are tentative and may change depending on the availability of training slots.
  2. *Merchant Navy Personnel and **Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Holders have specific eligibility criteria.
  3. NCC ‘C’ certificate holders are given a 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting under certain conditions.
  4. Final selection is subject to the verification of certificates and meeting eligibility criteria.

Candidates who are eligible can apply online from 29 Apr 23, with the last date for online applications being 14 May 23.

Applicants should meet specific educational qualifications, and universities or institutions should be recognized by the government for their degrees or engineering qualifications.

Note Details
(3) a) The candidate must fulfill the educational qualification by 20 Dec 23 before joining INA. b) Failing to meet educational criteria will result in not being allowed to join INA, Ezhimala. c) SSB recommended candidates must inform the Indian Navy of their final degree result by 20 Dec 23.
   
  (i) Only one application per candidate. (ii) Candidates choosing SSC (Pilot) entry will be considered for SSB/CPSS/Aviation Medical Examination based on service requirement. Others will be considered for their preferred branches. (iii) Candidates must indicate their preference for other branches/cadres if they wish to be considered for them. (iv) Candidates will not be considered for branches/cadres they have not selected. (v) Candidates should verify their eligibility for branches/cadres regarding medical standards before indicating their preference. (vi) No equivalent stream of BE/B.Tech qualifications other than those mentioned in para 2 (f), (g), (h), and (j) will be considered valid for the selection process at any stage.
(4) Details regarding Medical standards, Relaxation in Height and Weight, and Tattoo policies can be found on the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. SSB recommended candidates must undergo medical examinations as applicable to their entry. Changing the medical hospital/centre is not allowed under any circumstances.
(5) Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years, extendable by a maximum of 04 years in 02 terms, subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility, and candidate willingness.
(6) Selection Procedure: a) Shortlisting based on normalized marks in the qualifying degree. b) Marks obtained up to the fifth semester will be considered for candidates in or completing BE/B.Tech. c) For MSc, MCA, MBA, M Tech candidates, marks from all semesters will be considered, with pre-final year performance for those in the final year. d) Candidates selected in the final merit list must provide proof of completing the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks. e) Shortlisted candidates will be informed about SSB interviews through email or SMS. f) Changing the SSB Centre for the interview is not allowed. g) Correspondence regarding SSB date changes should be addressed to the call-up officer of the concerned SSB. h) No compensation for injuries during SSB interviews. i) AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview if appearing for the first time. Photocopies of relevant bank details must be provided. j) SSB procedure details are available on the Indian Navy website.
(7) Merit List: Merit list prepared based on SSB marks for all entries, as per availability of vacancies and medical clearance. Fit candidates in the medical examination will be appointed as per entry vacancies.
(8) Training: a) Candidates inducted as Sub Lieutenants subject to induction medical examination at INA post reporting. b) Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. c) Married candidates found to be married or marry during training will be discharged and liable to refund pay and allowances. d) Candidates voluntarily withdrawing from initial training or resigning during probation may be required to refund training costs. e) Candidates failing to qualify flying training (Pilot/NAOO) will not be retained in service.
(9) Probation Period: Probation period for SSC (NAIC) Officers is three years, and for officers of other branches/cadres, it is two years. The probation period starts from the date of granting the rank of Sub Lieutenant and ends after the specified period or completion of initial training, whichever is later. During probation, officers can be discharged for unsatisfactory performance.

(11) How to Apply: Candidates should register and fill applications on the Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. Details and documents should be prepared in advance. The online submission process includes filling in personal details, including email and mobile number, scanning and attaching relevant documents, and taking a printout of the application for the SSB interview. The application submitted is final and cannot be amended later.
